Wantage to bring The Snowman to the stage

Tuesday 30 November, 2021

Whether it’s settling down for a festive film or hearing the sound of a brass band playing carols, everyone has their own signs that Christmas is coming. Now Wantage Band is combining the two elements as it prepares to welcome audiences to its performances of family favourite, The Snowman.

The organisation has already sold more than 600 tickets across its four screenings of the classic film, which will see Wantage performing the soundtrack while the movie is shown in the big screen at The Beacon on December 11 and 12.

The one-hour family concerts will see the band stick to the theme of cinema and also feature music from other popular titles such as The Polar Express and Frozen.

Sam Wyne, of Wantage, explained: “We’ve been waiting patiently to put on this event for two years and it’s finally almost here. It’s essential that we connect with a younger audience and the families in our community and we hope that these concerts will do just that this Christmas.”

Remaining tickets can be booked at the Wantage Band website. Adult tickets cost £12, children pay £8 and under 2s go free (on laps).
