North Skelton ready for memorial concert

Friday 15 October, 2021

The life of a much-missed musician is to be celebrated by members of North Skelton Band as part of a charity memorial concert.

The band, which is now based in Middlesbrough, will hold a concert in memory of euphonium player, Jacqui Wilson. Taking place on Saturday, October 16 at 7pm, in All Saints Church, Skelton, the concert will include soprano cornet soloist, Kevin Moxon, and will see Tim Oldroyd and Lewis Wilkinson, both friends and former conductors of the band, presenting the programme which will pay tribute to Jacqui and her love of banding.

Tenor horn player Andrew Champion, runner up in the A4 Brass quartet competition in 2020 has composed a special piece of music dedicated to Jacqui’s memory.

Admission to the concert will be by donation only, with all contributions going to Teesside Hospice and Cancer Research UK.
