Besson is best for euph soloist Andrew

Saturday 11 September, 2021

Reg Vardy and International Staff Band euphonium player Andrew Hedley has been announced as a Besson artist.

The news marks the latest achievement for the talented performer, who has been principal euphonium with Reg Vardy since 2015 and a member of the ISB since Derick Kane’s retirement in 2019.

A frequent soloist with Reg Vardy, Andrew has performed at events such as the French Open Festival and the Brass in Concert Championship. His performances at the Dr Martin Contest have twice earned him the award for best soloist, in 2017 and 2019.

Speaking on behalf of Besson, sales manager (UK and Salvation Army) Lyndon Chapman explained: “We have a wonderful relationship with the ISB and I have known Andrew for a number of years, following his development from the Territorial Youth Band and admired his playing greatly. He is a super player and also a super guy, and I look forward to our future collaborations together.”
