Foden's in virtual playalong

Monday 5 April, 2021

Performers will soon have the opportunity to play alongside some of the stars of Foden’s Band, courtesy of an innovative new digital resource.

PlayAlong with Foden’s is a new initiative which offers musicians the chance to play 15 new compositions and arrangements by the likes of Jonny Bates, John Barber, Ian Raisbeck, Nick Birch and Iain McKnight, with flexible solo parts in C, Bb, Eb and F. Participants can tackle the pieces while playing with a virtual accompaniment recorded by Foden’s players.

Discussing the project, Mark Wilkinson, of Foden’s, told British Bandsman: “The commissions cover a wide range of styles and are great fun to play. Richard Poole has once again provided the expertise to ensure that performers can be accompanied in their own homes by principal players from Foden’s. We would like to thank Arts Council England for supporting our release, which we believe is the first project of its kind in this specific format.” Visit PlayAlong with Foden's for more.
