Armagh visit goes online for Foden's

Friday 19 February, 2021

For 20 years, Foden's Band has travelled to Armagh, Northern Ireland in February while also holding a summer school attended by more than 100 musicians in August. Unable to engage in its usual activities, the Sandbach band will instead perform in a virtual concert featuring new lockdown performances and favourites from its Stay at Home banding series.

Speaking to British Bandsman about the event, Foden’s spokesperson Mark Wilkinson said: “Our yearly visit to Armagh is one of the highlights of the band’s calendar.

“Over the past 20 years we have built up a number of friendships and we are always amazed at the hospitality and reception given to our members.

“Despite being unable to attend in person, we are extremely pleased that we are able to keep the tradition going in a virtual setting and look forward to returning in 2022.”

The concert takes place on Friday, February 19 at 7.30pm and can be accessed by heading to Foden’s Band’s YouTube channel.
