Saddle up for Saxhorn Fest

Tuesday 11 February, 2020

The latest celebration of tenor horns and baritones is to take place in North Yorkshire - and there is still time to get involved.

Saxhorn Fest 2020 will be held in Catterick Garrison on Friday and Saturday, February 14 and 15. Founded by Katrina Marzella and Helen Varley, the event is a day-long celebration of the middle band instruments featuring masterclasses, recitals, concert performances, discussions and lectures from some of the world's leading saxhorn exponents and musicians to players and enthusiasts from all walks of life.

The guest soloist at this year’s event is Belgian tenor horn virtuoso, Tim De Maeseneer, solo horn with Brass Band Willebroek. Also featuring will be the British Army Saxhorn Ensemble, comprising professional tenor horn and baritone horn players from the British Army Band Catterick.

Saxhorn Fest 2020 sees the return of the popular Youth Focus workshop, sponsored by Band Supplies and hosted by Reg Vardy Band baritone soloist, Fiona Casewell.
