Roger Webster Steps Down at Grimethorpe

Tuesday 11 September, 2018

Roger Webster has stepped down from his Principal Cornet position at Grimethorpe, with his replacement still to be announced to the banding world.

British Bandsman understands Roger will remain as a trustee with the band, but a busy personal schedule had led to this decision.

Speaking to BB, Roger confirms, "The time was right to step down from this iconic role and in doing so, look to the future of the band with younger, hugely passionate players that can carry the great name of Grimethorpe Band forward. I shall carry on playing with the band when I can and assist the new incumbent wherever possible. The band has a very bright future ahead with new commercial plans and activities and I am proud to be still associated with this".

BB understands a press release regarding replacement players to Grimethorpe will be announced shortly.
