Regional judges announced

The Yorkshire Regional Committee has announced the adjudicators for the 2018 Yorkshire Brass Band Championships, which will take place at the Town Hall, Ramsden Street, Huddersfield on the weekend of 3-4 March, with the 4th, 3rd and 2nd sections (in order) on the Saturday and the 1st and Championship sections on the Sunday. The judges are:

Championship Section: Arsene Duc and Bob Childs

1st Section: Alan Morrison and John Doyle

2nd Section: John Doyle and Arsene Duc

3rd Section: Anne Crookston and Howard Evans

4th Section: David Lancaster and Stan Lippeatt

Commenting to BB, Peggy Tomlinson, Yorkshire Regional Secretary, said: “It will be a privilege to welcome all the adjudicators, particularly Arsene Duc who will be adjudicating Yorkshire for the first time. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them and I am sure we can all look forward to another excellent weekend of contesting.”

The London and Southern Counties Regional Committee has also announced the schedule and adjudicator pairings for its 2018 ‘Area’ Contest, to be held at the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre on 17-18 March. The details are:

Saturday

AM: 3rd Section: Sarah Groarke-Booth and Chris King

PM: 1st Section: Ian Brownbill and Sandy Smith

Sunday

AM: 2nd Section: Leigh Baker and Tom Davoren

AM: 4th Section: Sarah Groarke-Booth and John Ward

PM: Championship Section: Ian Brownbill and Sandy Smith

Regional Secretary Kevin Williams commented: “We believe we have assembled a strong panel of adjudicators, which for some will be their first time in the box at Stevenage and our bands should look forward to impressing them with their performances. The Regional Committee are delighted to have secured their services and looking forward to working with them all immensely.”
