Haverhill Silver Band has announced a number of personnel changes within its ranks.

Having previously played solo euphonium with the band, Kevin Jones has moved from percussion to solo baritone while Andrew Hall vacates the baritone seat and returns to his original instrument of Eb Bass. Sarah Jordan moves from tenor horn to fill the 2nd baritone chair.

Also, following the departure of solo horn player Chris North to Redbridge, tenor horn player David Howells has joined Haverhill from the East of England Co-op Band, having previously had spells on solo horn with Redbridge Brass and Aveley and Newham Band, as well as guesting with many of the UK’s top bands.

A spokesperson for Haverhill Silver commented: “With these personnel changes in place it now promises to be another exciting period for the band, with a soloist concert featuring Cory principal cornet Tom Hutchinson on the cards in September and our participation at the Bolsover Festival of Brass contest again in October.
