Maestro provides joy unlimited at Astley

Wednesday 1 March, 2017

Astley Unlimited Band enjoyed an opportunity to rehears under the baton of the legendary Richard Evans on Monday 27 February. The daytime band rehearses on Mondays at St. Stephen’s Church, Astley (11.30-1.00pm) and continues to go from strength to strength, attracting both experienced and novice players, with an age range of 25 to 85.

Richard worked with care and sensitivity to ensure all band members were challenged and supported during the rehearsal and created a fantastic atmosphere of encouragement and positivity. Repertoire included The Impresario, I’ll Walk With God, Live and Let Die, Holst’s Second Suite in F and the march Aces High.

Astley Unlimited Band is part of the Astley Youth Band network, and rehearses each week under the baton of Helen Minshall, with tutors Sam Raisbeck and Mark Harrison. New band members are always welcome. Please email astleyyouthband@gmail.com or visit the band website www.astleyyouthband.org.uk for further details.
