
EBBA announces ‘Euro’ line-up

The European Brass Band Association (EBBA) has announced an impressive line-up of competing bands for this year’s European Brass Band Championships, which will take place in the Kursall, Ostend, from 30 April to 3 May.
The competing bands are:

Brass Band Oberösterreich (Austria)
Brass Band Treize Etoiles (Switzerland)
Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag (Norway)
Festival Brass Band (Belgium)
Grimethorpe Colliery (England)
Lyngby-Taarbæk (Denmark)
Cory (Defending Champion – Wales)
Tredegar (Wales)
Whitburn (Scotland)
‘B’ Section
3ba Brass (Germany)
Brass Band Senjorai (Lithuania)
Brass Band Wipptal (Italy)
Drogeheda (Republic of Ireland)
Murley Silver (Northern Ireland)
Brass Band of the University of Music and Performing Arts,
Graz (Austria)
The European Composers’ Contest will take place on Thursday 30 April at 8.00pm, when the first half of the evening will consist of performances of the three selected pieces. The three compositions will be played by the Noord Limburgse Brassband, the runner-up at the Belgian Brass Band Championships in 2008.
